Michael Kerr attends PA Governor’s The Lightening Conference

Albin Atzmueller of Voith, Governor Shapiro, Rob Bair the President of the PA Building and Construction Trades Council, and Michael Kerr the CEO of NEHC

NEHC’s Founder and CEO, Michael Kerr, joined Pennsylvania’sGovernor Shapiro and his team and other leaders in the energy field for the unveiling of PA’s Lightning Plan. The announcement defined the significance of the plan:

Supported by labor and industry leaders, environmental advocates, and consumer groups, GovernorShapiro’s commonsense energy plan will create jobs, lower costs for consumers, protect Pennsylvania from global instability by building next generation power, and position theCommonwealth to continue to be a national energy leader for decades to come.

There was a strong focus on improving the state’s permitting process thus enabling more streamlined development for companies like NEHC as they pursue non-invasive green hydropower. NEHC relies on legacy dams and canals to provide infrastructure for its projects, and working with private, municipal and state owners, as well as with the Governor’s infrastructure team, the company is developing several opportunities in the Commonwealth.

As the governor stated:

"My energy plan will power Pennsylvania forward by incentivizing the building of next generation energy projects in the Commonwealth."

Working with turbine builder, Voith, headquartered in York, PA, NEHC is exploring the best sites for commercially viable generating facilities that will support the Governor’s initiative.
